Leaves in the Pumpkin Patch!

No sun for my pictures this time!  The sky is definitely gray and it looks like it will be for several days more.
The leaves have fallen into my pumpkin patch!

I liked these leaf plates the minute I saw them.  I came across this tablecloth with the pumpkins and loved the coloring and large scale checkered pattern.  I didn't expect to mix the two but I ended up liking them together.

I used the dark wood chargers to create a separation for the patterns.  The cream color with the soft tan accent dishes worked well once again!  I used the dark bamboo flatware to work with the chargers and to stand out against the tablecloth pattern.

One of the blogger's (forgot who- sorry) used to call this "the rim shot" which always made me snicker.  It's a good term though so I'm borrowing it!  Pier 1 and Cracker Barrel pieces.

These napkins have the same reddish tone found in the leaves and will come in handy for other table settings. (On mark down at Pier 1)

I figured with all the patterns going on I'd keep the napkin plain and simple in both color and how I displayed them.

My centerpiece was inspired by a pumpkin I just received from a fellow blogger "CelestinaMarie at Southern DayDreams"

I was visiting her "Etsy shop" and this pumpkin was just what I wanted.  You can click on the "links" I've provided to visit her blog and shop.

She artfully applied the leaves, ribbon, velvet rose and jute stem and I love the paisley print.

I've been wanting a velvet pumpkin but couldn't make my mind up on one to pick but when I saw this velvet rose I knew that's just how I wanted to go.

I used a glass charger for my base and a crystal candle holder to raise the pumpkin up.  I had some two tone excelsior that worked great a a base for the pumpkin.  She also included some extras in the package and the green leaf was one of them so I snuggled it in there too!

The little pumpkin and gourds are real and were brought home from the Farmer's Market.  This kind of arrangement is also easy to pick up and remove for dining.

The amber colored glasses have appeared a few times over the years.  Good 'ole T.J. Maxx!
I like these because they could serve water, tea, milk or a beer!

I fiddled with the camera by putting it on manual and lightened up the picture so you could see the corner round table and get the whole picture.  I wish I could just leave the table this way and not take it apart!

As you can see in this collage we're starting to shift to fall colors in our yard and the leaves are beginning to fall.  My morning glories are still trying to bloom and the Sweet Autumn Clematis is too.

Your table is such a pretty fall setting and so cozy and inviting.
Great collage pics. Looks like fall in your area. We are still in the 80's.

  11. That's Marigene at "In the Middle of Nowhere" who calls that the rim shot! So funny!!! I remember that, too! It always had a double meaning for me: the rim of the plate as well as a cool rim shot in basketball that gets everybody up on their feet and cheering!

You SCORED with those plates, girl! They're beautiful!!! They are the epitome of fall's beauty! I love seeing beautiful fall leaves on plates, even if I'm not so wild about them covering the yard! :-)

You did a wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL job on this table!!! I completely understand why you wish you could leave it there as is throughout the season!!! It blends beautifully with everything you've done on the entry table and around the room on the walls. Perfection plus!

I hope the sun makes an appearance there soon. We've been dealing with storms and clouds for a couple of days now. Ugh! We needed rain, but not THIS much!!! Have a warm weekend!!!

  12. I'm crazy about mixing patterns so your tablecloth and dishes work perfectly for me. You have captured the spirit of fall beautifully. Speaking of falling leaves, in the last three days my yard is covered.

  13. I love your leaf plates! In my early years of living where only pine trees grow, I hated Fall. So boring, with no leaf beauty. After moving to Atlanta, I fell in love with Fall! We're no longer in ATL, but my love for Fall didn't change. Leaves turning colors are my favorite part of the season. The pumpkin print on your tablecloth is a beautiful combination with the plaid. I agree that the patterns between the cloth and dishes mix well. It's a beautiful combination! I love your new pumpkin - never saw a rose quite like that one on the top. I hope your dreary days are over! :-)
