Out with the old, in with the new!

The polar bear was from a recent visit to a local museum and it reminds me of this cold arctic like winter we've already started up north here and the sky shot was from our trip downstate for Christmas which makes me think about the beauty and many possibilities over each new horizon!

Be safe and have a great New Year's Eve celebration!

Wishing you all a very
Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous
New Year!

Holiday Wrapped Up

I thought I'd pull together images of my home this Holiday season and wrap it up into one post.

All my holiday posts can be seen at the top right of the page with the links for December

We will be at home for Christmas and then off to my Mother's to see the rest of the family.
I'm a little heavy at heart this season because our son and his wife have accepted a new job in Oregon and will be moving there very quickly. We're thrilled for him because it's a big step up and a wonderful place to live, however that 2400 mile distance is a bit overwhelming.

I want to thank everyone who has visited my blog and left so many nice comments.  It's been a pleasure visiting so many of your blogs this holiday season and seeing all the creative and beautiful holiday decorating.

Have a Merry Christmas and God Bless Us All!

Cozy Christmas Kitchen

I've cozied up the little kitchen dining area
for Christmas.

I draped the garland around the plate rack and
stacked a sled at the top

I added my "Twas the night before Christmas" dishes
to the plate rack

My Woodland Santa from Kirklands (2012)

The sun came out! Yay!  We've been getting
a lot of snow and it's been a bit since we've had
much sunlight!

A serving tray that was a gift from last Christmas and just happens to have the same coloring as the dishes.

Some little extras from one of my sisters

I moved the one plate forward and put a wreath behind it....just because

Some Mosser ruby red juice glasses and a cow creamer cozy it up some more.

I purchased these dishes a couple of years ago from Dillards (watch their end of season sales)

 Ready for some warm drinks

In the corner is my kitchen Christmas tree.
I put the poinsettia and mercury glass bird down below.

Sweet old fashioned looking tin from T.J. Maxx

Picked this candle up in Pennsylvania in October

My kitchen tree has a collection of foodie items

Last year I was gifted with some "garden" related ornaments so I added them to the kitchen tree

I may have to create a new tree for more garden related ornaments!

The chandelier is draped with a garland that I added some blueberry pieces to.  The ornaments are done  just like last years.

I'm using the sled/tray that I posted about
"here" for dishes to be easily used

Over by the sink I put a few things in the window
I took these pictures very early to catch the glow
of the light fixture.

This little fixture was a gift from my mom many years ago.  I felt sentimental about it this year because at 91 yrs old she's gotten very forgetful and it was one of the last little things she gave me when she was still interested in shopping a bit.

The little chefs called Kindles (by Byer's Choice) are stacked in a tin with silver edged pine cones.  I  used them in this post in 2010

Did you notice the snow through my windows?
Yep this is my deck and part of the backyard.
Looks like we're having a White Christmas
around here!
