Welcoming spring!

This tablecloth with it's bright green seemed like a great way to brighten up my kitchen and to welcome spring in!  

The sun was beaming in and I rushed to capture some pictures.  I had already put my terrarium on the table just to be different and then I decided to set up a couple of place settings for breakfast.  While Dan was getting ready for the day I scurried about to put this together!  I didn't elaborate too much!

I used the Bordallo Pinheiro dishes again because I like their garden colors.  

My pink Fleur-de-Lis glassware seemed like a good pairing and the ivory flatware was an easy fit with this arrangement. I kept it simple with a basic white napkin.

These white dishes have a grape vine pattern and the cabbage leaf plates look so good on top! The coffee cup has a textured vine pattern built along the handle with raspberries decorating the center of the cup. I thought these all made for a nice garden theme and a good mix with my terrarium

"Cathe" the name I've given to my garden angel is sleeping again and this bunny is up to no good!  He's after the flowers! 
Wake up Cathe!

I think one way or another I will be using bunnies in my tablescapes through Easter!

One last picture before we ate.  Admittedly I'm not really this formal for breakfast but we've been so thrilled with this early warm up to spring around here that I seemed like a nice idea to welcome spring in with a garden theme!  I made a batch of french toast, some sausage links (which is Dan's favorite) scrambled eggs and hash browns.  
We had some O.J. and coffee.  
Later on Dan worked on my dish closet making me some racks for the stemware.  I'm only showing a quickie picture because I need to organize it, but I will show it again in the near future! He's going to create some coffee cup holders too so I don't have 
to stack them.

My oh my how did this grow to so much!

Glass Candle Corner Evolution

Sat. the 12th..

Do you beat a subject into the ground?  

I know I do!  I've been playing with this 

corner theme since Christmas. 

You see...I have a thing for these glass 

candle holders...I started with a few 

probably 8 years ago, and kept adding
on since then. On and off they've 
appeared in my decorating. 

After Christmas when I had found a 

couple more pieces that I used during 

the holidays I decided to create a cluster

in this corner on the cabinet.  

First I'm showing the end result...then 

I'll walk you through 

my evolution of changes!

The following picture is where I was at with it right after Christmas

I borrowed these pictures from another room..

Previously there were two pictures of

my kids that I have relocated

These two pictures have been floating looking for a new

spot for a little while now- but I was sure they wouldn't fit

here but to my surprise they did!

I messed around with the arrangement, trying

different candles to see what would show

up best...

Then I decided to get these green candles 

to pull the green that's in the background 

of the print (which you can't really see here) 

I figured continuity was the way to go...

plus the decorative candles with the gold 

on them actually have that green in 

the design too

I set a gold frame near it just to see if I

liked that too

So I ordered this glass cloche from Wisteria...

and really didn't have a plan for where

it was to go, but I decided to set it in 

with this group, and

I liked it right away

 Something is gnawing at me, I know I need

to marry the cloche with something

and the dark color in the wood

candle holders seems

like the way to go...soooo

I found this charger on discount at 

Pier 1 Imports 

where the candle holders had come from

and I was very happy with the 

size and color..

I really didn't know what to put inside, so 

I wandered aimlessly at Michaels

and found this little silk arrangement

and then I saw these green rocks

and thought what the heck

maybe this will work!

So this is what I ended up with....what

do you think? 

At a distance

I am stubborn and I don't give 

up on a subject when I get

going on it! 

Perhaps this whole arrangement is a 

bit eclectic, but that's ok -right?

This has always been a spot in my room 

that stumps me as to what to do with

it...It's had many faces

You see I already tweaked it since yesterday!
