French Fabric Wrapped Vase

I saw this French printed fabric wrapped vase at Michael's and it intrigued me!
It's simplicity attracted me and with fall coming on and lots of dried grasses and flowers as possibilities-
I'm thinking it would would look charming decorated that way.
They folded the top edges in so it would have a nice finished look.  They probably used some kind of spray adhesive but I'm thinking that mod-podge might do the job too!

I thought of how easy this would be to make but the fabric with the words on it would be the challenge.  I wonder if there is some pre-printed fabric at JoAnn's or such?

I decided I'd share this just for the fun of it and perhaps it may inspire someone else for a project!

I think I'll make a trip to JoAnn's and see what they have!  I already own a couple of those cylinder shaped vases so I'm half way there!

Happy Pumpkin Gathering

Hello everyone!
Join me and my new friend for dinner!
My husband saw me eyeing this figurine and a matching
piece at a store last Saturday (Sweetest Day)
After we had dined we went for a walk in
our little downtown area of
Traverse City
and stopped in at a little gift shop...when
he offered to buy them  for me I quickly
said yes! We both got a kick out of his
little stick legs !
My centerpiece includes my new decorated
pumpkin I showed in a previous post here.
By the way
I'm serving up some Warm Cider,
 and Pumpkin Pie
OH-LOL
 I forgot
the main dish
a Turkey Casserole
with some hearty crusted white bread!
The table is dressed with a simple floor
length table cloth and topped with
a square black netting piece
The flatware is grouped together
with the napkin and wrapped
with a purple wired ribbon
decorated with bats!
I layered the dishes on the
plum colored round placemats
from T.J. Maxx where I also
found the cute purple glasses!
I found these pumpkin plates at
Michaels-I thought they were so
cute and happy!
This is one of four dessert plates
made by Rosanna- I chose them
to give the pumpkin a little framework!
The dinner plate is part of a set made by
CMG, called Brasserie and I got it from
Neiman Marcus (they will make a good
basic for many other table settings)!
I turned a votive upside down
and perched this little
guy on it
I snipped off some of my mums
from outdoors to put in this
matching votive
I used my spider candles with my
mercury glass candlesticks
As you can see I have quite a gathering
of pumpkins in my house! Way out there
on the mantel are some and my previous
blog posting here shows my corner
table has many more!
I believe we are all set dine now!
Well thanks for checking out my tablescape
and I hope you enjoyed it!

Deck Decorating & Updating

I'm Linking up with the blog party at Savvy Southern Style

We were in need of some updating so this year we purchased new cushions for our lawn furniture because our old set had started to fall apart. My difficulty was finding colors that would work with our pewter metal finished furniture.  I finally found this print and felt lucky because everything is geared towards decorating with the bronze toned furniture.

We also had to find an umbrella and I never thought I'd be buying a black one but I did!
Recently we added a window box which I am loving!
I decorated this tray with an eclectric group of items. Most of it was purchased at Hobby Lobby in their clearance section.  The tray alone was only $2.40... since it's going to be outdoors I didn't want anything I paid a lot for and would worry about how it will take the weather.

I added moss to it to pull it together.
I found this bird cage at Michaels- added some moss to it too- there is a little center cup for a candle votive.
This stone looking footed bowl was on discount too as well as the candle ($2.40)
I had these flower pots on the glass table tops but I didn't like the constant water stains, so I brought these metal stands up on the deck and I'm happy with the results!
This large planter has taken off nicely and makes a really bright impact on the deck which I love.
I love to use planters to help decorate!
We made this deck large (14 x 28) when we had it re-built back in the 90's and it's used a lot in the summer months.  I consider outside areas like this to be an extension of my home and I enjoy decorating it!  Do you like to decorate your outdoor areas?
