New Year's Greetings and a Vignette!

After tearing down the Christmas deco and having open surfaces again, I decided to start here.  While bringing things back out to the living room and kitchen area I picked up this plate that was my Moms and decided to give it a try on the credenza.

Mom had a fair amount of blue and white porcelain asian pieces.  I have more that I've never shown.  Mom is in assited living, 98 years old now.

My favorite Pottery Barn candle holders.

I went to my storage area and found this blue and white deco ball so I decided to give it a try too.  The african violets seemed like a good choice to add some color.

I think generally this is farmhouse style.  Asian meets Farmhouse?

I like this combo, what do you think?

My amaryllis are still putting out blooms.  I'm so impressed with these bulbs.  Definitly try to buy bulbs that are the larger cm measurements.  They are more mature and put off more stems with flowers.

What I am most impressed with is that all three colors I chose are blooming at the same time.  My first blooms occured early on in December so I'm delighted that the've kept going!

I hope your New Year is starting out well.  Thanks for stopping by!

Almost Easter!

I made a couple of changes to my kitchen dinette area.  I switched up what was in the basket and added a table topper that was my mother's.

Before I had made up this little basket with carrots and a candle.

I picked up a hydrangea at the grocery store and made it my center piece.

The eggs are from MacKenzie Childs.  I bought them on sale over the past two years and they really are nice!

The table topper has a different medallion in each square and each square is intriquitely attached to the lace.

A lot of detail in the lace.  It's probably at least 20 years old and I'm imagining it was an import but definitely hand made.

On the credenza I added the caarrots that had been in the basket and I think it perked up the arrangment!

Thank you for stopping by and I do hope you will find a way to enjoy Easter during this time our country is experiencing such difficulties!

Patriotic Vignette #2

 Land of the free!

A few trinkets!  The White House and Statue of Liberty are salt and pepper shakers.

I elevated the flag by turning a candle votive holder upside down and used some tacky wax to stabilize it.

I used my "rug" with stars all over it for a table runner.  I believe it came from Pier 1 a few years ago.
(It's never been used on the floor)

 A couple of Uncle Sam's!

Lady Liberty with fireworks behind her!

At night the candles glow and it takes on a whole new look!

A Patriotic #1 Vignette

Hello everybody!  It's been a little while since I posted anything inside.
Today I've created a vignette on top of my new credenza.

Waving flags gently clustered together (which are perched inside using a foam insert)

I added some patriotic table scatter.

Since it's almost time for day lilies I included some for a pop of color!
I staged them among some chicken wire that I stuffed in the vase.

The table runner (from Pier 1 last year) has a cute applique on both ends.

I adore these Bethany Lowe pieces. Old fashioned and patriotic!

This is a little design I created from Hobby Lobby.  The potted geraniums came in this aged planter.  I slipped in a potting tray and placed them in this wire basket (all found at Hobby Lobby) and I'm real happy with how it turned out!

Easter Greetings at the Dining Table

I kept walking past the formal dining table thinking I should have done something there so I finally put something together.
We're not having any gathering so the table won't be used.  This gave me an opportunity for another vignette!

Infuse With Liz
Over the weekend I put this arrangement together in the tall glass vase.

I was inspired by this picture I copied from One King's Lane.  I liked the way they stood the stems so straight in the glass vase and thought I was going to be able to do the same but it wasn't going to happen.  The hydrangea flower heads are too puffy and the stems are too narrow to achieve the look.

Infuse With Liz
So I changed up my idea and crisscrossed the stems...

...and stuffed reindeer moss all around the base

Infuse With Liz
I pulled out a pair of flowery placemats and added some cute little lambs, bunnies and eggs.

I've used these before but it's fun to re-use them in different ways.  I love the sweet faces!
