Fall On The Mantel

 

 

I'm pretty fond of mixing the fall colors with the blue and white porcealin.  I removed one of the porcealin pieces and added the lantern.  Then I added a small vase.

 

I added branches of leaves, pumpkins and berries.

Added the pumpkins here since I didn't on the mantel.

I've had this planter which was made for me up in Petosky at Monarch Garden & Floral Design which I posted about in April of 2018

First it was in a white planter which got broken because of a certain cat!  Then I found the brown one and just transplanted the whole arrangement into it.
 

I like the faux branches, they're neat and less messy.

Fall On The Dining Table

 

 

I combined my blue and white porcelain with some fall tones.

 

I mixed some Wheat and Dahlias to add a little wow factor!

 

This MacKenzie Childs pumpkin cart holds another MC pumpkin on top of it.  I've been recycling these pieces for several years.

This table runner is from Home Goods, it has another blue and white geometric pattern on back.

Happy Fall! 2022

 

Well Welcome Fall!  

Sorry about the long hiatus of posting.  I decided to drown myself in my gardens and just enjoy each moment!  We've also had a several things done around the house which includes new steps to the deck, painting our storage barn, painting the house a whole new color and adding stonework around the foundation.  So mentally I've been busy!  I'll follow up with a barrage of images from the summer.

In the meantime I've pulled out some of my fall deco and added it to my credenza

I laced in some berries with a twig for the owl to perch on.  I tucked in a branch with leaves and a small pumpkin to create a nice vignette.

On the right size I anchored a pumpkin against these MacKenzie Childs black and white pumpkins along with another branch of leaves, etc.

I picked up these candle holders last year and they are great for filling in the gaps!

The pumpkin on the left shows the candle ring that I used on both corners to support and elevate the pumpkins with.  The runner I picked up at Home Goods a few years back.

So for Halloween which I'll do the closer we get I'm adding these to MacKenzie Childs statues.

So there you have it my fall and Halloween Deco!

October Highlights - Kitchen

 

October has arrived!  Fall brings on warm and inviting smells warming our homes and senses!

   

I've pulled out my fall placemats which really warms things up!

I  pulled out my MacKenzie Childs and chose to decorate my bureau with the bulk of my collection.

I left my candlesticks in place and just added the owl and pumpkins.   I kept it simple but colorful!

My MacKenzie Childs cake platter came in handy to display a pumpkin and I surrounded the base with a leaf wreath and some autumn berry picks.

I placed a couple of mixed fall picks to enhance these pumpkins.

I can hardly believe October has arrived.  September went by in a flash!  I hope winter does too!  Haha!

Outdoor Fall "Deckorating"

 

I deckorated a bit more lightly than in the past which is how I feel about this year!  You can see my planters out front of the garage.  I tied up my King Tut grass and surrounded the area with mini pumpkins plus a metal painted one.

Our ash tree is dropping leaves steadily.  We've been getting rain on and off so much lately it's hard to find a sunlit picture!  We've been having an arborist do injections on the tree to fight off the emerald ash borer and it's worked! 

I caught an evening shot with some sun that I thought was pretty!

 

Anyway back to my "deckorating"!  I found an assortment of pumpkins and gourds at a local farm and they were quite reasonable.  I tried to pick out various colors and textures.

I nestled this bird on the bucket and mother nature accented it beautifully with leaves!

 

I layered three pumpkins with grape vine wreaths which I've saved to use over several years now.

 

I found that Farm Fresh Pumpkins bucket at Hobby Lobby a while back and the orange cauldron style pumpkin I got while visiting in Pennsylvania recently.  Some geraniums still hanging on!

 

I created this wreath several years ago and decided to bring it out and hang it on the back of the house.  This area stays pretty dry.   I had found the fox at JoAnn's and attached it to the wreath, it was designed to be a door hanging by itself already.  I just inserted a bunch of faux fall flowers as well as acorn and miniature gourds and pumpkins.

 

I'm having trouble with squirrels eating on the pumpkin with the nobby texture and my corn stalks (there aren't any corn husks). I just realized in this picture that they've toppled the corn stalks over.   Anyway I think I'll try spraying the deer/rabbit away product on them and see if that helps.

Falling In Love With Fall On The Dining Table

 

A little while back I created this vase full of sunflowers that I posted about.

Well I decided to expand on that!

I started with my fall tablecloth from Williams Sonoma (from few years back) and a new table runner from either T.J. Maxx of Home Goods.  It has a faint hint of black in the lines.

I had to wait for a sunnier day to highlight the table since there are no windows immediately nearby.  

I mixed in my MacKenzie Childs pumpkins with some other faux pumpkins which coordinated with different elements on the table.  I added sprigs of berries for filler and a couple of floral sprays. 

    On the backside you can see two deep wine leafed wreaths that I used to elevate two of the                                                                                 pumpkins on.

I just love the owl, got it a couple of years back and they still sell it.  The verdi green pumpkin was new last year and is also from MacKenzie Childs.
