Easter on the Plate Rack

Well you all knew I'd have something new on the plate rack for Easter right??  This is one area that gets changed a lot in my house.  It's become a fun spot to update for the seasons and holidays with.
I stepped back into my kitchen to try and capture the whole area.  As you can see my Christmas cactus is blooming again.  I guess it likes this eastern window- it's always performed well there.

Let's zoom in….

The lantern I first used at Christmas has been fun to decorate.  This time we find some sweet bunnies playing in a field of eggs they've landed in.  I used these same bunnies and eggs last year as seen "here" on the formal dining table.

I used this jar for the fireplace mantel last fall as seen "here" and today it's loaded with more Easter eggs!

I stuffed the bottom of this little pot with paper.  Then I grabbed some raffia and clustered it around the bottom of a glass candle votive and layered them inside.

I changed the arrangement that I used for St.Patrick's Day and just kept the Lily of the Valley.    I fussed a bit and finally came up with this vignette on the little table.

I already changed the flowers to white tulips after I took the pictures but I didn't want to take all these pictures over so this will have to do for now!

I moved the cabbage plates down and added the coffee mugs that go with the dishes above.

I've had these dishes for a few years and finally decided to use them on the plate rack.  The only problem is the wood rails kind of block them but I still like the look.  As you can see I have still kept the blue and white striped dishes behind.  I like the affect they give.

Last year I used these dishes for an Easter morning tablescape as seen "here".  The name of the dishes is given there too in case you want to know.

In the floral arrangement from St. Patrick's Day I has some very large yellow hydrangeas in it.  I pulled off 6 of the flower stems that make up the big flower and taped them together to make a much smaller flower.
You can see how big the flowers were "here" in the St.Patrick's Day post. This is the fun of re-using things you already have.

This ivy topiary has been with me for at least 8 years.  I had it setting next to the china cabinet in the dining area.  Since I had added the etagere last year I felt like this area needed something on the left side.  I've walked past this topiary hundreds of times and it finally dawned on me to try it here.  I've been using the slotted metal basket for magazines for a long time but decided to adopt it for the topiary.

I'm happy with how it fit in here and I feel like it finishes off the area much nicer.  I think having something setting below the sconce was just what it needed.  The green pear ball in the white bowl on the table is newer- found it in February and it's now a mainstay on the table.
So that's my Easter on the Plate Rack!

I will be joining the following parties:

  3. Liz, your Easter plate rack is lovely. You have beautiful things that add joy to the holiday. My Spring decorating has come to a halt due to renovations, so it's fun to see how you so charmingly place your bunnies and eggs and beautiful florals. Enjoy your day! ♥

The square bunny plates look wonderful behind the blue and white striped plates, and the bunny mugs are perfect with the cabbage plates. I love china, and you have so many nice patterns to mix and match.
