Here Comes the Sun!

It's always such a joy to see the sun coming up over the horizon especially after a difficult couple of days weather wise.
24 hours earlier white-outs and blizzard like conditions overtook the area.
I guarantee Valentine's Day was a bust at the restaurants around here!

The thermometer was as -12 degrees this morning.
Creaking sounds come from the woods as the trees adjust to the extreme temps.

The birds were even reluctant to come to the feeders but as the sun rose more and more they all started showing up.  I tried to capture some pictures through my windows- I'm staying inside!

The Beatle's tune "Here Comes the Sun" always pops up in my mind on days like this.

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun and I say it's all right….

Looking out my office window as I tapped away at this post.
The day is looking promising!

  2. Snow looks so gentle and serine and you have captured this so well with your photos. The reality is a different thing though isn't it and can be so frustrating! Over this side of the pond we have it so easy however just a little dusting seems to grind us to a halt :-) Take care x

  5. Hello Liz
It looks like a wonderland to me - but then it's 'Summertime here and the livin' is easy' to quote the lovely George Gershwin song!
The sun shining through the silhouette of branches is beautiful.
I've become a follower again - when I did a blog makeover, some time ago now, I lost all the blogs I was following..... yes it's been a mission getting things back in order!

  10. Love that song. Your wintery photos are very pretty. I especially liked the last shot of the trees. I don't blame you though for enjoying the sunshine from the inside.

  17. While the snow is very pretty, it certainly does keep people indoors. :))
