My Halloween Deco

Here are my Halloween decorating highlights! I'm fairly minimalistic this year but I've had some fun with it just the same!

I've shown you my fall mantel recently but there is something new now!

A skeleton seems to have landed in my arrangement along with a raven! Notice his top hat too! He's ready to party!  I should have given him a martini glass!

Another raven sets next to him amongst some moss and pine cones..

Another raven peers over the situation and a ghostly character that's hanging around!

The low lighting made it hard to get good definition but you get the picture I'm sure!

I added a battery operated black light that  gives him a creepy glow at night! Hard to photograph but I think you agree it ads some spookiness!

Out by the kitchen is my burlap covered table that I frequently use for holiday decorating.

This runner has been with me a number of years.  This time I displayed  it on the burlap to add a little more Halloween to the vignette!
The metal pumpkin was new last year and another raven found it's way into the house! (Need to keep the doors closed!) I surrounded the base with a fall garland that I snugged up around it.

I like this look and as soon as Halloween is over I'll just remove the runner and Pumpkin guys and bring in some Turkeys!

Speaking of the Pumpkin guys! I got these last year (Hubby bought them for me after he saw me admiring them)
The little guy is made to sit so I perched him 0n a little candle votive and used some natural excelsior moss to fancy it up and help him stay put!

He is adorable with his little bird!
Dig the sexy legs on them! See his little black bird he's holding! I wish I knew more about these- there were no brand tags on them or other info.  I just got such a kick out of their primitive folk art look!

I had changed the center of my Indian Corn centerpiece to be more Halloweenish and left the table dressed with the spider web tablecloth.

This is how the kitchen table looks day to day. The placemats were from Kohls a couple of years ago. We turn them upside down when we eat because they are woven like a rug and will have to be hand washed.

The cloche has pumpkins, skulls and a raven underneath. I wrapped the orange ribbon around the corn to give it more of a festive look... The graveyard stones are tucked close to it so I decided they could stay!  As you can see in the background of the other picture we are wet and rainy here.  We had a beautiful sun filled warm day yesterday but we're back in the rain again!

I have one more Halloween tablescape in mind...
I just need to get it together!

  4. OK....I'm already scared because the wind is blowin' something fierce out there and it's dark. Then YOU come up with this creepy skeleton glowing like vacationers at Chernobyl!!! What the heck, Liz??!?!?!?!!! GREAT effect, and even better because it's battery-operated! That really is a cool effect. I like that a lot! I think that's my favorite part. I AM a little "off in the head", though, so.....! :-) Everything looks really cool! I love the way you used the "Rule of 3" on the mantel as it applied to your ravens. The balance is perfect!!! Oh yeah....dude with the top hat DOES need a martini...and one of those long cigarette holders! :-) :-) :-)

  15. Your Halloween decor looks great. I LOVE the added touch of the black light on the skeleton. Having just organized the basement storage, I am wondering where you keep all your seasonal decor. I only have one tub(container) of Fall decor, one for Easter and the rest is Christmas. Would have to finish off another storage room if I add anything else!
