Fantasy Fairy Garden 2018

Welcome to my Fantasy Fairy Garden

This year I have a small play yard between the two stone cottages.

I've dubbed this Rose Cottage this year!

Miniature hostas that came back from last year.

Anew addition- found this sweet arbor at Michael's

It's strawberry season!

A potting shed for the garden fires with a working door!

I have some new fairies.  I found some triple milled mulch made by Scotts that I used for my landscaping accent this year.

My new "Shingletown Cottage" and a fairy my niece from the Chicago area sent me.  She bought it at a gardening show.

Like the potting shed this is a working door.  I have a light inside of it too that I can turn on with a remote at night.  Notice the mailbox on the right side with mail in it!

The wings are translucent and if a light is shining on them they glow!

Isn't she the cutest!  I found a couple of new lines of fairies by Department 56 and Ganz.  I like the brighter colors and quality.  The faces and details of the clothing are wonderful.

A little bridge over some blue glass stones.

Well look who jumped in the bird bath!

The "Iris Forest" is in bloom!

Peering through the forest you will find the yellow gazebo.

I've got it facing towards the other side since the fairies are now helping to maintain the Lighthouse!

I found this plant called Golddust (Mecardonia hybrid) that stays real short and blooms sweet little yellow flowers throughout the summer, but is only an annual around here.

I'm working on an idea to make a path between the fairy garden and the lighthouse.

The Lime Zinger Sedum has really taken off- I'll have to keep it trimmed since it's starting to take over!

So there you have it- my Fantasy Fairy Garden 2018!

  1. Absolutely adorable Liz. If I could shrink down and become a fairy I would move right in to the Rose Cottage with that sweet green roof. Too cute. Happy Sunday. Happy Dad's Day to your hubby.

  2. I love love love your fairy garden. I am going to have to find time to make me one. I have been wanting one for years after seeing them on your blog. I need to look online for them because I never see anything around her at the stores. Beautiful job Liz.

    1. Thank you Martha Ellen! I think I have improved each year with the design. I wish I could cover it up and everything would be fine but each fall I have to store it away preparing for the heavy snow loads we get so each year it's a fresh start.

  6. Liz, how magical! I really enjoyed the tour. Have seen the accessories at Michaels and garden stores, but never could figure out a good place in my landscaping. Partly because of the scale of plants. Never heard of a minature hosta! Soooooo neat.

    1. Thank you Debbee! I got started one year and just kept it going. I guess it's like doing those Christmas villages- I always enjoyed doing them too!

  7. Wow! This is so cute!!!! How do you keep this all together with all those teensy little components like this?!! The wind storms here would destroy it within a week! This is even more amazing than years past!!! I’m perhaps a little overly obsessed with the hostas. They are so realistic! And wait a minute...what is that child doing with a basket full of strawberries in cherry country??!?!?!😉 This is such a fun hobby, and the creativity called into play to create something new each year is astounding! To me it’s like moving to a new house every year...except you don’t have to get Two Men & A Truck to help you out!!!😄

    1. You are too funny Alycia! Somehow the wind doesn't much affect the fairy garden but the chipmunks that run through there do! I have daily cleanups to do because of them! I'll have to keep a lookout for some fairies with cherries! The hostas are real!

  11. Hi, Liz,
Fairy gardens are so magical. I noticed Magnolia Market in Waco had them scattered in their gardens and offer fairy garden pieces for sale.
