The Great Pumpkin!

Some fall decorating in the living room.

It's a great big pumpkin and surprisingly heavy.
It has a sidekick too- kind of a minnie-me!
These were from Kohls a few years ago.

I decided to do some layering.

Starting with a large wreath, the metal bowl and then the pumpkin!  The wreath has been with me for a few years (T.J. Maxx).  The metal bowl normally sits on the coffee table with magazines in it so it was a convenient choice.
I like trying out new and different ways to use things that I already have.
I did have to snuggle the bowl down in there and  arrange the things on the wreath to face outward, other than that it was an easy design.

I've gotten some mileage out of these pieces
which makes me happy!

So my great pumpkin found a new patch to lay in!

I think this can carry me through to
Thanksgiving too!

I forgot- I did add some pumpkins and leaves to my big bowl over on my chest.

This is off to the right of the fireplace.

We've been experimenting with some new paint color ideas for the room and right now both sides of my mantel have different colors painted on them.  I hate to show it right now because it looks kind of weird.  I haven't come up with anything to do with the mantel yet.  I'm trying to keep it real simple this year.

Okay I'll show you, but don't pass any judgment on the colors yet.  It's still in the air. I'm not going with the one on the left because it really darkens the room.
I will also be changing the curtains when I finally get the room painted.

I'm tired of the yellow.  It's been there for 7 years and it's time for a freshening!

Soooo...... I'm long winded here...
Catch you at a party!

  8. Fall suits your Home, I think.
And I like the yellow - like a wink from the sun during the colder and darker days ahead... but I understand that you can love but get tired of it... there are nooks at my home I change decor every week so you don't have to even justify this for me ahahahahah
You have great taste on teh accents you choose. I could see those items and not realise this could be done - it's a Gift you have.
I so Love Autumn. I wish it was here already but it will be a while for me.
Wishing you a wonderful, and creative, weekend,
    Teresa
