Perennials and Some Annuals!

 Hello my fellow gardeners!  I thought I'd start off with this beauty which is a Lofus vine plant.  I really love the trumpet like flowers it produces.  I'm getting more and more each day!

 Things are finally taking off.  What a long drawn out spring it was!

 This is my new Cherry Parfait rose bush that I showed a bit ago having another round of flowers!  Love it!!

 Next to it is my Sarah Bernhardt peony.  It's finally producing more than one flower.  It's the third year in.  They are heavenly scented!

 These are the spirea I planted last year and they are coming along nicely.

 This is a classic example of how perennials sometimes crawl, creep, then leap!  This is the 2nd year for these hostas and the pretty much look like they did last year.  The astilbe is filling out nicely so next year I figure I'm going to have a nice show!

 Out front I planted two new shrubs.  One is a Ninebark and the other a Barberry bush.  I decided that the burgundy maple on the end, then the burgundy Barberry bush in the middle and the burgundy Ninebark on the other end to be punctuation points.  I decided it was all to green and needed some contrast.

I think this Ninebark should do well here.  I had a Pinky 

Winky hydrangea here but it was very lackluster so I dug it out and replaced it with this Ninebark.

 This is a mock orange shrub.  This is the third year in and it's filling out and flowering more.

 This spirea is blooming and will soon be shaped/trimmed.

 I put the stone out here last year and decided it needed a 2nd one next to it.  The cluster of hostas I planted came up nicely.  There's about 5 plants there and I planted this somewhat close together so they'd look like a very large hosta.

 This was last week when the pink peonies were in full bloom!  Gosh they smell so good, too bad they are so short lived!

 This is now and the white and deep pink or red ones are blooming away.

They are bordered with the perennial geraniums.

 A quick snap of the yellow begonias which are just now starting to take off.

 This is a Captain Kirk hosta.

 And lastly in front of the garage Superbena Royal Chambray planted with a Baby King Tut grass in the center.  I'm hoping the Baby King Tut will get taller soon!

Patriotic Vignette #2

 Land of the free!

 A few trinkets!  The White House and Statue of Liberty are salt and pepper shakers.

 I elevated the flag by turning a candle votive holder upside down and used some tacky wax to stabilize it. 

I used my "rug" with stars all over it for a table runner.  I believe it came from Pier 1 a few years ago.

(It's never been used on the floor)

At night the candles glow and it takes on a whole new look!

A Patriotic #1 Vignette

 Hello everybody!  It's been a little while since I posted anything inside.

Today I've created a vignette on top of my new credenza.

 Waving flags gently clustered together (which are perched inside using a foam insert)

 I added some patriotic table scatter.

 Since it's almost time for day lilies I included some for a pop of color!

I staged them among some chicken wire that I stuffed in the vase.

 The table runner (from Pier 1 last year) has a cute applique on both ends.

 I adore these Bethany Lowe pieces. Old fashioned and patriotic!

 This is a little design I created from Hobby Lobby.  The potted geraniums came in this aged planter.  I slipped in a potting tray and placed them in this wire basket (all found at Hobby Lobby) and I'm real happy with how it turned out!

Gardening Update June 16, 2019

I've been busy having a garage sale for two weekends so I haven't posted anything new in a while.  It was very successful so I am glad about that!  

So with that.....

I'll start with my dwarf korean lilac topiary.  It's full of flowers and boy does it smell heavenly!

Up the path a way my hostas have filled out nicely and have engulfed the space entirely!

Across from there are some Gold Glame Spirea which are just about to bloom.

Further up I planted three spikes in the middle and surrounded them with these fuchsia colored new guinea impatiens which have just begun flowering.  We've had a lot of rain lately.

At the hosta hill the swans are filling out nicely with their impatiens.

 These pots are filling out nicely!

 My hosta hill is still filling out.

 A pink clematis pops out to make an appearance!

 This is Sum and Substance hosta (a few leaves are twisted backwards due to wind) 

It's a terrific plant that gets large fairly quickly.

 I don't know for sure the name of this one but it is still filling out.  Love the variegated coloring. 

This is another one tucked under the cut leave maple.  I believe it is called On Stage.  My daughter did a lot of theater so I bought it with her in mind.

I've got a collision of hostas here.  I shall have to remove one!

 Last year I put together this side hill of hostas and I'm very glad to see how well it's come back!

 This is a nearby hosta with very curly leaves.

 The big one is called Empress Wu and the Brother Stefan hostas have all come back nicely.

 This is my ferns filling in a corner of the house.

They've loved all the rain!

 Around the corner my foundation plantings have all come back nicely.  I did a post about this last year.  (You can see it "here")  The astilbe are close to blooming and the hostas are filling out.

Further down from the foundation plantings these Curly Fries hosta have come back nicely.

The one by itself is a  Sagae hosta.

 Some of my iris have been blooming.  Love the painted look of this one.

You can see my bleeding hearts and columbine too.

 Some very pretty yellow iris have been blooming too.

This Dwarf Nikko Deutzia is starting to bloom.

  I had a lot of people from my garage sale do a walk through my gardens which was fun!
