Valentine's Dining With Friends (T)

Hello, join me as I've set the table for Dan and I and a couple of friends for Valentine's Day
(a bit early).

Romantic flowers center the table with my mother's fine china place settings.

There are snap dragons, though they haven't opened up much yet, beautiful pink roses and soft lilac colored mums.

I used the candle votives I got from Nell Hill's back when she had an on-line account.  A touch of purple from the candles picks up on the purple flowers and some purple in the dishes.

Time for dinner!

Valentine's Inspired Tablescape (T)

My amaryllis are lovely right now and made for some good cut flowers so I decided to use them for my Valentine's Inspired Tablescape!

I sure have enjoyed these for the past couple of months!

I gathered some of my Valentine's deco and had some fun with it!

This little piggy is all dolled up for Valentine's Day, and is sitting on a pair of gold hearts with an arrow through it.  I scattered some red glass pieces for fun!

Isn't she cute! Aren't those some crazy eyelashes!

I had these heart plates from Pier 1 from several years ago.  I used a black outlined dinner plate to frame the heart dishes.  The white chargers, crackle wine glasses were from Pier 1 and so were the heart napkins.

I used a gold napkin ring to go with the gold hearts.

I double layered the heart napkins with a black & white check and repeated the black with the flatware and dinner plate.

I chose this red and white rooster talecloth that I got from the April Cornell website a couple of years ago.

I had a terrible time with these photos.  It's a very overcast day, snowing and I just couldn't get
enough light, so I altered all of my pics to be brighter.

Cheers to Valentine's Day!

BE MINE (T)

Won't you Be Mine!
I thought I'd show my table in stages as I built it...

I came across these at Home Goods on mark down.  The starry dishes are by Sara Miller London, Portmeirion Celestial Collection.  The glittery gold chargers were part of a set of 4

The "Love" dishes came from Hobby Lobby.  I accented them with a chocolate heart!  The gold rimmed stemware were also from Home Goods.  I borrowed the center glass tray from  under my cloche nearby.  My theme quickly became gold and red!

Then I brought in my "Red Velvet" Amaryllis that I've been growing for the last month for my centerpiece.
I embellished the pot with moss, three hearts on sticks and a garland made of hearts.

I had this pink rose accented pottery piece for some time.  Turns out it was just the right size for the amaryllis.

Red Velvet amaryllis is a very large and truly red flower.  Here it is nearly all opened up.

And now it's in full bloom!  Just as gorgeous as a red rose!

These are candles accented with heart graphics from Pier 1 with "Pink Champagne" as their scent.  The crystal candlesticks are also from Pier 1.

The gold and white striped candles were part of a boxed set I picked up at TJMaxx a while back.

I was going for a bit of an elegant with a flair of whimsy!

Some nighttime photos!

Wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Dining With You My Friends! (T)

Step on in and join me for some Valentine's Dining With You My Friends!

Due to the heavy snowfall I am stuck home so I chose to use my red poinsettia that is still doing well from Christmas.  It's a bit unconventional for Valentine's Day but I love that it's red like beautiful red roses are!

I added two very large artificial white hydrangeas blooms to add some fullness to the top area.

Evey so often I get a poinsettia that just keeps going like this one is.

I'll remove the flowers and place my lasagna casserole in the center along with a chopped salad and some sliced Italian bread.  Do you like lemon?  I hope so because I will be serving a lemon ricotta almond cake for dessert!
I chose my Ralph Lauren Sophia dessert plates with a simple white dish below it.  I love the black/white/red colors for Valentine's Day.  I also like pink but this year it seemed to be all about the black, white and red!

The heart shaped placemats were found at Home Goods labeled Nicole Miller.
I didn't want to compete with the patterns of the dishes or placemats so I kept it simple and used a plain white napkin with a pewter cuff placed as a centerpiece on the dish.

We're expecting 6" to 9" of  snow in the next 24 hrs!  I'll be sure the house is extra warm and we'll enjoy a cozy Valentine's Dinner together!

Wishing you a Lovely Valentine's Day!
