Sunflowers Galore! (T)

I went to the Farmer's Market last weekend and picked up these sunflowers and zinnias!

I wanted to do a tablescape that could be transitional towards fall but not jumping in all the way!

I had the sunflower stemware from Pier 1 tucked away so of course they had to be brought out!

I took all the red zinnias the girl had but two died off already.  I love the color next to the sunflowers!  These sunflowers are holding up great- love it!

I like the deeper purple color mixed in too so these napkins also made it to the table!  The simple galvanized charger created a nice transition between the open weave placemats and the dishes.

The apple was added after I stared at the table a bit and felt I needed another layer.
It rained all night, was gloomy this morning and then the sun popped out.  I love seeing the sunlight dappled in.

The woven placemats came from Sur La Table when I visited the kids in Pennsylvania in July.  I wanted to keep the table simple since I have a lot going on in the background.

I recently found this vase at a little store that I'm fond of in Glen Arbor just north of us about 25 miles.

I chose the dark bamboo flatware because it goes nicely with the dark centers of the sunflowers.  I've had the sunflower plates (T.J.Maxx) for several years.

Sunflowers are in around here right now and so are apples.  Late summer is a wonderful time of the year!

Prayers go out to everyone affected by hurricane Harvey and the newest Hurricane Irma.  Though we are so isolated from all this devastation up north here we are watching and praying for all.

I'll be joining:

  1. Zinnas remind me of my grandmother because she always had them in her garden. I loved cutting them with her.

  2. Gorgeous, Liz! Sunflowers are a favorite of mine and perfect this time of year. Love the plates!

  3. Love the cheery sunflowers! You can't help but smile when they're around. The plates complement them perfectly. Great lighting for your photos.

  4. Liz, your tablescape is so pretty! I love sunflowers and zinnas...they looks just beautiful gracing your table. I am swooning over those gorgeous sunflower glasses!

  5. Late summer IS a wonderful time! My very favorite, even over Spring. There's just something so super nostalgic about it all. You found some gorgeous flowers. Sunflowers are such great flowers for decorating and enjoying for a long, long time. Our neighboring state of Kansas is FILLED with them right now!!! Holland of the Midwest!!! Your flowers look super in that new dragonfly vase, too. Good buy!

  6. Sunflowers make me happy- they are so cheery. I'm with you about not wanting to rush fall, but I think we are out numbered.

  7. I love sunflowers and those plates are soo pretty. Hubby bought me a small pot of sunflowers just last week.

  8. Such a pretty table! That vase is gorgeous, I would have had a hard time walking away from that one as well. Sunflowers always make me smile, as does your beautiful table!

  9. Loving the sunflowers. They make everyone so happy. The table looks fabulous and full of sunshine. The glasses are a lovely addition. Gotta love Pier1.

  10. Love, love, love sunflowers. I think they go with any decor and any time of year. I really love your vase and sunflower plates and wine glasses. I would love to go decor hunting with you. You seem to find some really lovely pieces that are used in some of the very charming tablesettings that you post. I love your new look of your blog too. I will now be able to see all of your fine work. I hope you have a lovely Fall season in beautiful Michigan.

  11. OOO, I love sunflowers, those plates are just gorgeous. Your whole table looks amazing.
