Farmhouse Style Tablescape (T)

At this time of year we are overlapping with the end of summer flowers like the hydrangeas on our shrubs and seasonal fruits like apples coming in.
I cut some of my Limelight and Endless summer hydrangeas.
They are beginning their color changing and left on the shrub will eventually turn brown.

Instead of fresh apples I decided to use my apple tablecloth for this tablescape.
Over the past weekend we took a couple of small road trips and I saw apples being picked in some orchards so they are definitely coming into season.  Pears and Peaches follow along at the same time too.  I've already noticed some of those pesky fruit flies!

I also wanted to include some chickens for my farmhouse style tablescape and dug around my dish storage area and found these dishes that I've had a long time and forgotten about.
Sorry it's a bit dark- we've been getting rain for two days and more coming.

The flatware has an antiqued pewter look so I used the metal trivet set underneath the flowers to tie into them.

I played up the gold tones in the salad plate with the napkins and I had some wire chicken napkin rings I chose to use too.

There are four different chicken plates.  They came as part of a larger set but I didn't keep all of it.

The dinner plates resemble the Berry and Thread pattern from Juliska.  I lucked out and found these at Cracker Barrel (no name on back) on clearance around 5 years ago.

My favorite stemware that I started collecting last Christmas from Williams Sonoma.  I need more pieces (hint hint to kids/hubby).

This is one big fat Endless Summer hydrangea starting to turn brown.

I cut some ivy and vinca vine and laced them into the arrangement.

The floral arrangement will be removed and a casserole type dish will be placed in the center.
I'm going to make the Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie  and have a side salad with my favorite Creamy Italian Dressing.  I'll take a picture of the casserole (once it's made) that I add one ingredient to that we love!

  1. Your table just makes me smile, Liz! So happy and lovely with your endless summer hydrangea blossoms. I have those same rooster dishes. They are so much fun. I need to get mine out as they are packed away downstairs. I've made the Impossible Cheesburger Pie from the recipe on the Bisquick box. I'm interested to see what your special ingredient is. Have a lovely day. ♥

  3. What a great table. I love the hydrangeas. My mom was given one a couple of years ago and i am thinking I will try to take cuttings from it and start one or some for at the farm. You will have to let us know if the hinting on the blog bears fruit come Christmas. I hope so. The dishes are nice and fun that you found them again and used them. I have a set with red barns on that I have packed away. I might have to get them out again.

You tied in everything so well with the little details like matching the flatware to the centerpiece plate and the colour of the napkins to the plates and tablecloth. No wonder it looks so put together and coordinated!
