A Country Christmas Table

A Country Christmas was my theme
for this tablescape.

I used our original flatware from when we were married
(35 yrs. ago) called Cherbourg by Oneida.
I love these red poinsettia salad/dessert plates!

These dishes are a favorite of mine- I used them last year for this tablescape.  We are using them everyday right now.  The chargers were a find at Home Goods.

These napkins have all the right accents with their red cardinals and holly berries.
These are by Park Designs, called Nature Sings and are still available
I stuffed this little cloche with some little glittery stars, red berries,
a tree and two Pottery Barn glass ornaments that are heart shaped with a peace sign.
Hard to get a picture without glare!

The Tray/Sleigh was a gift to me last Christmas from my son and daughter in-law and was the inspiration for this tablescape.

Inspiration photos for the Cuisine Kathleen challenge
Cuisine Kathleen is having a challenge to use an inspiration photo
for your table.  I wanted to use my tray/sled but for my inspiration photo all I could find were these examples, so I used the tray, candles, plaid fabric and red dishes to work with!
Come view the party "here"

The pine cone Salt and Pepper shakers came from Home Goods.
The silver bark candle was from last year at PB.
I will be able to find various uses for this tray and I think it's adorable!

This is full of hot chocolate mix!  The red cups will
be brimmed with hot chocolate and marshmallows!

  1. Liz, that little sled was the perfect inspiration for this pretty, cozy table! I think plaid is so appealing for Christmas tables, and this one is just lovely.

  2. Beautiful table, Liz. Love the sled tray! You're decorating up a Christmas snow storm! Love everything you're doing.

  3. Great job. I love your tablecloth and plates and napkins and the fabulous sled!

  4. Love your table and the tablecloth is so cute. The sled is darling and you can use it so many ways.
    It's Christmas at your house.

  5. I love that sleigh, so cute! Your table is beautiful, so cheerful and inviting! Those red dishes with the plaid is great. Love the pine cone s and p too. Thanks for taking the challenge at Let's Dish!

  6. Your Christmas table is pretty with the plaid tablecloth as the basis. The Christmas china and the poinsettia plates are lovely with the poinsettia plant. Your cloche is a wonderful addition with the tiny tree to the centerpiece. Have a great week!

  7. Oh you had me at the poinsettia dishes and the plaid tablecloth…I have always loved all things plaid, but got away from it for a while..now I am always on the lookout for plaid accessories…and when I found my plaid shams for my bed, I thought I hit the jackpot!….Gorgeous table LIz!!..and love your wedding silverware!!

  8. Beautiful table, Liz! I also love your poinsettia plates and your dinner plates are also very pretty....Christine

  9. Liz,
Your table is beautiful..great dishes and centerpiece...I love the pine cone s& p...
    Love, Mona

  10. Your tablescape is beautiful I love your dishes and the cool looking tray/sled.

  11. Gorgeous! I love every single element, especially the poinsettia plates.

  12. I love your Santa picture on the wall and your sled too. I have those plates and should be using them everyday. I think the poinsettia plates are perfect for these dishes. Joni

  13. Oh, Liz. Im so in love with your dishes. They would be PERFECT for my Dickens Village table setting. They look so "Old World London." I think it's not just the picture in the center, but the dark colors.
I visited your tablescape post last year and found them to be "Christmas Home" by Royal Stafford. They are charmers. I am going to keep my eye out for them, although God only knows why - I don't need one more plate. But I think I'm going to give in to temptation if I ever run across them.
    Merry Christmas.

  14. It looks like you have been busy busy busy and I have been out of touch!!! I'm loving your Christmas decorations. It's all so beautiful!!!!!

  15. Liz, your table looks amazing! Just gorgeous! The dishes are so beautiful. Merry Christmas!

  16. Oh I love that sleigh/tray! It looks wonderful and the red plaid is such a perfect pairing for your country Christmas table! A holiday Poinsettia just can't be beat for a Christmas centerpiece and of course hot chocolate is the drink of choice after sledding!

  17. Oh Liz, I love your table better than the inspiration one. Yours has so much charm and character. I do love our matching plates, but your poinsettia ones on top are just gorgeous. The sleigh tray is just perfect for displaying your centerpiece. What a perfect gift!

  18. Love the sleigh! You will find so many uses for it. Love the plaid tablecloth too. Makes a very pretty table!

  19. A beautiful Christmas tablescape! The "tray sleigh" is really neat! I enjoyed browsing your beautiful blog and signed up to receive emails when you post.

  20. Liz, I am holding you responsible for my purchase today of a plaid tablecloth. I love this setting with the Christmas Home plates (I'm quite envious of those) and your sled. Great interpretation of the inspiration theme. Thanks for stopping by to see me!

  21. Country with city flair!!! First, that flatware is timeless and beautiful. It works so well with the overall look. I love it how you kicked it up a notch by using a sled as a tray as inspired by the photos. Genius!!! The napkins are great, too! I was looking for some nice-looking cloth napkins with cardinals on them for this year's cul-de-sac progressive dinner, but I haven't found any yet. These here are really nice. The birds look like real birds rather than caricatures and the holly is bountiful on them. I'll continue my search!

Your cloche display is beautiful, too!!! You really do those well. I don't even try it because it's so intimidating, but you rock it! Have a great weekend, and stay warm. I hope the snow that's coming here doesn't make it's way to your neck of the woods.

  22. Liz, this is so beautiful!! I love the poinsettia plates and the Christmas home plates. The sled is precious with the log candles, those sweet pine cone salt & pepper shakers, I just adore plaid and especially the plaid tablecloth you used. Not all plaids are created equal - yours is so rich with color. I love it all.

I am really loving your dining room - your Christmas decorating says "welcome" to me.

  23. Love that tablecloth! Your table is charming, Liz. I'd love to be sitting at this table enjoying a meal with you. Happy Holidays!

  24. Beautiful table! I love your Christmas dishes and think it is great that you are using them daily during the season!

  25. Update on your beautiful sleigh...no longer available! Hold on to that treasure!

  26. I love this table, Liz. Love the dinner plates, what is the name of them? SO pretty! Love how you are using the sled! I have been tryng to find a sleigh to use on a table too.

  27. Those poinsettia plates are so beautiful and I am gaga over that sleigh. Your "every day" Christmas dishes are so pretty and your certainly hit the inspiration pic. Actually, I like yours better.

  28. Liz,
What a stunning tablescape and those plates are to die for!!
