Really???

Lucky us.... we got snow already!!  Really???  This is way too early- good thing it melts as soon as it warms up.  This was our 2nd day of it and a bit more is coming.

I removed some of the plants from their pots but not all of them over the weekend.  I haven't emptied the pots of their dirt yet.  I figured I had plenty of time!

I stood at my back door and shot these pictures... I like the virgin snow on the pumpkins and plants - even if I am bummed to see snow so early!

Aren't the hydrangeas all pretty laden with the snow...

Doesn't the bright orange look spectacular against
the snow!  I'm sure they're doomed now.

Neighbor's house
Out my office window
I better hustle and get those pots emptied- I have a feeling we're in for a long winter!

  1. Wow even the leaves haven't finished falling and you're getting snow. I hope its not an indication of what's coming this winter. I was reading Jean's comments about the dry years they've had, and I know the precipitation can be a pain sometimes but every time I go out west I come home thankful that I live in a lush green area!! Love the snow on the mums!! Bundle up when you go out there!!! Brrrrr

I do love the look of the snow on the pumpkins. I hope you get all those jobs done and
it doesn't hang around too long.

  4. Wow, Liz...seriously?! I think I did hear the weather forecast that some parts of your world may see some snow. It may be a little early for you; but, it really does make for some beautiful photos! It looks so beautiful!

  5. Oh Liz, I hope not. I broke down as I was feeling cold fully dressed, not in my pj's, and turned on the heat. Oh well. I am thankful I have my little home and furnace to turn on! Counting my blessings. xo

  8. I wish that I hadn't looked at this post. Who wants to think of snow just now? Not me. Looks pretty though.

You're grounds are beautiful Doug, you sure put a lot of work into them. Hope you have a safe and warm winter. My little greenhouse is holding its own down here in Ohio but those Lake Erie winds are very cold, know we got it comin. Take care.
