A Bit of Gold, A Bit of Red, and Poinsettias! (T)

 

Welcome!  Continuing in "red"  I put together this tablescape with a refined yet casual look.

Ugh the lighting was terrible and this was a noon!

A bouquet from Costco that I just cut down and re-arranged.  It was a nice cheerful mix of red, green and white.  I waited for the lilies to start opening but by then the hydrangeas were going down hill, so I cut them back and placed them lower down.

The Merry Christmas placemats came from Home Goods by 34th & Pine, last year.  The red plates are by Lenox and the poinsettias plates (and pitcher) are by 222 Fifth, called Winter Harmony

 

I used the Christmas tree napkin rings from Pier 1 also from last year.  I don't know about anyone else but I'm really not happy with their website and their offerings anymore.  Nothing is "Pier 1" any longer.

 

The candy cane Christmas trees were from Home Goods I think (UPDATE-actually they were from Michael’s) last year too.  I borrowed them from my kitchen window vignette!

These pewter birds were added just for fun and they pick up the coloring of the trivet I used for the florals.

I got the tablecloth from Crate & Barrel a few years back.

The gold rimmed glasses pick up the the gold rimmed dinner plates and the silver picks up on the birds and trivet!  You can mix your metals!

Time to gather!

Oh' Christmas Tree

 

Well it's obvious I love red!  I'm loving the tree this year.  We didn't put the bottom section in so it's a bit shorter but it was easier to decorate and I don't think anyone will notice that it's shorter!

 

I got the idea to put a wreath on the tree.  Can you spot it!

 

It's right here with a triagular shape of poinsettias and ribbons.

 

I just got inspired to do this while deciding what to do with the wreath.

 

Here is a side angle showing the wreath.  I surrounded the area with a lot of poinsettias which I used on last years tree.  It help to blend the wreath in.

 

A few closeups of some ornaments.  My tree is a collection of ornaments collected through the years with a new one here and there.

Thanksgiving Wine Bar & Dining Table

 

I was clearing off all the Halloween deco and while figuring out what I was going to do it suddenly struck me to make a wine bar.  Our kids are coming this weekend and they appreciate wine so I decided to expand on that idea.

 

Down below in this cabinet is a wine rack so I just selected some and brought them up above.  I staged some wine glasses, cork screw, wine coaster, candles and a turkey!

 

My white roses from my last tablescape are still holding on. 

 

They've held up beautifully!

I placed wreath above the sconces which was a first for me.  I like how this looks!

I had a little Thankful sign I added too!  We're having our Thanksgiving early since the kids are visiting.

 

I brought in the lanterns from my Fall and Halloween  display outdoors.

I placed a small turkey on the candlestick.

Over by the front door I created a couple of vignettes.  I've had this MacKenzie Childs turkey for several years and decided to incorporate it into this setting.

This is a maintenance free dog!

I decided to add fall deco to this chest of drawers and keep the blue pieces in place.

I snuck in a small Pilgrim turkey!

 

I had bought this to go on a wreath but this year I decided I would add it to this mirror and I like it!

 

A small vignette on the dining table.  I continued my usage of the sunflowers and pumpkins but added my pheasants and Pilgrims.

 

 

I'm a traditionalist and love to celebrate the seasons as they come!  I hope you enjoyed my Thanksgiving presentation!

Elegant Black & White Halloween (T)

 

Welcome to my Elegant Black & White Halloween.  We adults can have fun too!

 

I've layered some black and white dishes with wild animal prints to jazz it up a bit!  Elements of silver and gold appear too. 

I added a gold leaf to place the wine glass on... 

 Daylight gently streams along the table though it won't be long before darkness takes over...

My center arrangement started with this sequened placemat I found at Home Goods.  I've had the spider web placemats for some years.
 

 

Two dozen white roses add a touch of elgance to the centerpiece.

A little elegant boo from MacKenzie Childs, my splurge for the season.

 

The black and white votive is also a MacKenzie Childs piece from several years back.  Notice it's outlined with gold and so are the wine glasses and napkin rings.

A chopped salad will be served and then a pot pie followed by sweet cherry cobbler with ice cream!

 

Ahh now the tone is set!
