Hot Cocoa Anyone? (T)

Feeling like some hot cocoa for lunch!  Come along and join me!

After viewing Pam's tablescape of Everyday Living I decided to incorporate some blue with tartan.  I layered a white charger, my blue Devon Cottage dishes along with the Toile dishes from Pier 1.(Snowland Village) and Silver snowflakes wrapping the fork and napkin.

Here's a collage of the four different patterns of these dishes.  (Pier 1, Snowland Village)

I put together four different adorably shaped seasonal mugs with candy canes.  You can stir your hot cocoa with them!

I love this swet reindeer face the most!

I reused the arrangement I had in my last tablescape.  I cut pieces back significantly to fit into this candle votive that I'm using for a vase.

Hot cocoa (didn't have marshmallows but will get some!)

My amaryllis are blooming away.  All three colors are out now.

So glad we aren't getting all that snow that's predicted for the East coast, but praying for them as this is predicted to be a big one!

Thanks for joining me!

Living Room Wrapped Up

This is the room for the holiday season.  I adjusted the furniture to allow for the tree.

I kept the coffee table simple.

Again the sun popped in- sure made the red pop!

The pillows are from Pier 1 and MacKenzie Childs.  The only way I can afford anything from MC is at the end of the season clearance sales.  Some things go so fast it's mind boggling but every so often I luck out.

This mercury glass pot is a few years old and came from Pottery Barn.  I don't do much with silver coloring but this pops nicely in the room and with the red flowers it's made even more dramatic.  I found the mercury glass votives at. T.J.Maxx a couple of months back.  The candy tray has surfaced on my posts many times.  I loaded it with some Ghirardelli candy cane chocolates!

I used my iPhone to make a panoramic picture so everything is included.  It makes things look a little wonky but it captures an all encompassing view.

Extra, extra- I came across this pet bed at the store and grabbed it up.  I couldn't believe they had one with a tartan plaid print!  (Petsmart 30% off)  I keep a bed here on the sofa so the cats aren't leaving their fur everywhere.  They sit next to me in the evenings when I play on my iPad and watch tv.

Evening shot...

I have more pictures coming of the dining and kitchen areas coming this week!

Christmas Mantel 2016

Each year I design a new look for the mantel.

This "stag" or reindeer was the inspiration for my mantel this year.

The green cedar trees are from last year as well as the stocking holders which I use for ornaments.

I found these metal pots at Michaels and my little trees fit in there just right!

Red tartan ribbon woven throughout the garland.  I did this last year and loved it enough to repeat it.

I found these snowflake pine cone ornaments at the same place as the stag.  I knew the minute I saw them what I'd do with them.

Wood twigs and pine cones- perfect for my "lodge" look.

Some red ornaments to tie into the red tartan on the garland.

These reindeer usually go with a sleigh but this year they're a part of the fireplace hearth.
The gold cords are actually twisties made for tying on garland to a stair railing.

This beautiful tartan Santa joined me last year (Pier 1) and I just love him.

Thank you again for visiting and I hope you'll keep coming back as I continue my posts on this year's Holiday Decorating!

Tartan Mania

So I went to Michael's to check on a few things and suddenly I was aware that they're offering tartan plaids in several items.

I snapped some pictures- aren't these trees cute!

Large and small ribbons

Baskets- these would be cute with those scented pinecones in them or to make a gift basket with!

And this was my favorite- a Tartan Santa!  He is $69.99 but if you use your daily coupons you can get 40 to 50% off.

There were more items but I only took a few pics.  I got Tartan mania just seeing all this!
