Late Summer Kitchen Decorating

I've swapped out the cherries for some summery florals.

I've had the floral plates for several years and I found the two accent vases in my stash so I decided to incorporate them.  Summer's not over in this house just yet!

I recently got this Polish Pottery vase with florals and hummingbirds.  It was a quick sale once I saw the hummigbirds!

I love the detail in it and fortunately for us the store was having a sale that included their Polish Pottery which greatly helped the bottom line!

I believe I bought these little vases at Hobby Lobby last year.

I hope you are enjoying this last month of summer.  I know some of you are baking in the heat and can't wait for fall.  Soon enough it will be September and then I'll start to feel like decorating for fall!

Halloween 2019 On The Credenza

I gathered together my Bethany Lowe figurines and made a grouping on the credenza.

I found an LED light and it lit up the pumpkin perfectly!

This is a Polish Pottery pumpkin I got a few years ago.

I added my Potions and Spells books because you have to have them too!

These were my first Bethany Lowe pieces.  They're heading to the party!

These aren't actually Bethany Lowe but they've joined the fun too!

I got this woven Halloween corn set last year on our way through Beckly, West Virginia and posted about it "here".

This is a Cynthia Rowley table runner I found at Home Goods this year.  Loved the beaded pumpkins!

Some close-ups of some of my favorite pieces!

This is a design for Bethany Lowe by Mary Engelbrite.  I ordered it online through the Mary Englebrite web-site.  I've had it a few years.

 Isn't she cute!

 These were all morning shots...

...and this is an evening shot.  I'm all set for Halloween, how about you?

Saturated In The Blues (T)

I love the deep saturated blue colors of this April Cornell tablecloth.
I decided to go heavy on the blues with my dishware as well!

I have a handful of Polish Pottery pieces that I brought to the table.  Salt and Pepper shakers and a creamer for our coffee.

Last week's tablescape florals are still hanging on but I re-cut them and arranged them in this vase.

I used this "blooming flower brick" that I ordered from The Williamsburg Foundation.  As you can see it has varying sized holes meant to hold larger and smaller flowers and to make arranging easier.

The roses had begun to look sad so I peeled away the outer layers that had started to brown to freshen them up.   The gerber daisy is pretty much at end of life but the chrysanthemums and carnations are still doing great.

I spotted the S & P shakers while in Frankenmuth last year.  I think they're really cute and unique.  I used a woven mat to cluster the center arrangement pieces.

One of my first Polish Pottery pieces was this honey pot.  Dan likes to use honey for his coffee instead of refined sugar these days.

I chose two of my Polish Pottery coffee mugs  with similar colors.  The stemware is LaRochere Napoleon Bee.

This table is a pot-pourri of products.  The blue dishes came from Hobby Lobby with the name Certified Internatinal on the bottom which I layered them on my everyday white (French Countryside) Mikasa dishes.

I put a lace doily underneath and chose the galvanized tin charger to keep a casual appearance for the breakfast table.

The squared edges of the blue/white plates just happened to pair up well with the white dish design.

This is a square tablecloth with this side having a larger crocheted accent.

This would be great as a topper on a small accent table with perhaps a white table cover underneath.

We've been experiencing a great deal of harsh winter weather like a lot of other people have.  It was only 7º today.  We're used to lots of snow but the extra cold has made the roads more slippery.  Staying indoors is the best option since you can get frostbite in a short time.

I can only stare at this and dream of spring waiting to see life emerge from the earth again!

Ahh...warm embracing color!

Impromptu Morning Dessert (T)

With a late morning start we decided some apple and cherry turnovers sounded good and Dan volunteered to head off to the bakery to get some.   We'll be eating again around 1o'clock and didn't want to eat too heavily at this time.
I got the coffee brewing and then decided to set up and impromptu table setting.  LOL he'll be surprised when he gets back!

These little blue plates came from Pottery Barn (called Scalloped Tidbit Plate) and the reason I wanted them was to have something that fits on my little plate serving stand.  It's really small and a standard dessert plate doesn't even fit on it.

Turns out their color looks really good with my Polish Pottery so that was a double bonus.  I ordered these on-line so I wasn't 100% sure of their color but fortunately it worked out well!  Some stores still have these but they are listed as sold out on line.

This is the little plate stand.  I added the raspberry jam jar for looks but we didn't actually need it for our impromptu morning dessert.

He should be back any moment so I best stop taking pictures!
Wishing you a beautiful day!

Where's the Beef?

LOL... I couldn't resist that!!

I seem to have a bovine collection started!

Couldn't resist this mini-cow creamer by Polish Pottery.  I spotted it up in Mackinaw City when I found my plates I used with this tablescape post "here" and I knew it would go well with my other two pieces of Polish Pottery.

This old gal has been hanging around a while...moo!!

I ran across a website called Antique FarmHouse that I thought I'd give a try.  I spotted these petite cow and bull plaques and thought they looked like old iron pieces that had been salvaged.

This is their picture from the web page.  They're more "rusty" looking than mine and show up better on the light blue wood background.

I had it on my mind to include them with this wall collage of things I seem to be growing but they are even smaller than I anticipated.  So I decided to use this area near the wheat.   I'll be on the lookout for something to go on the wall above them.

I gave in and used the flash.  The corner is just too dark and I couldn't get a good picture.

They don't quite have the exact "rusty" finish as the picture from the website shows but they''ll have to do.

So I guess I found the beef!
