Land Of The Free

LAND OF THE FREE
and
The Home Of The Brave!

I've created this vignette for the 4th of July celebrations with the same items I've used for several years but in a new display area and layout.

Freedom and Liberty

Uncle Sam was a find several years ago so he makes his apperance each year.

A faux red geranium and some wicker balls were added.

The two boy and girl statues are Bethany Lowe figurines and a couple of patriotic birds!

I loaded the base with these red white and blue filler pieces just to make it look more complete.

Freedom, Liberty and behind is a red one that says Happiness

What is that myserious rolling pin?

I found this old rolling pin in my mother's things when we were cleaning out the house last fall.  The ribbon is in pretty sad shape but I thought I'd leave it as is.

After studying flags I've decided this loosely represents the Norwegian Flag and Coat of Arms.  I'm imagining mom picked it up at a craft show since it has little hooks put into it and the ribbon was added so you could hang it.  It has nothing to do with our 4th of July celeration but I thought it was quaint and fit in to the vignette.

  6. You have some of the cutest red white and blue decor. So festive and fun. I love that runner you got at Pier 1. So sad to see them closing their stores. I cannot believe it is going to be the 4th already this coming week.

  7. Love all your stuff! We share Uncle Sam on a bike, although mine is incorporated into a wreath. Just noticed Michaels is carrying a new version of it in their stores if any of your readers want one. Plus is marked way down! Happy 4th Liz!

  9. This is very festive but my favorite thing is how you hung your mother's rolling pin. I might have to do the same thing when I get home to stay. It's a wonderful idea and brings her right into the home.

Keep cool -- hot as all get out this week!

  10. Liz, this vignette is perfect for the 4th of July! I love your bike-riding Uncle Sam and those stars. I may have to try to make some, I've seem some unpainted wooden stars at the craft store and think I could duplicate them pretty easily. Wishing you a very happy Independence Day!! Zenda

  12. Western home decor is decor that will give your rooms a look and a feel of warmth, invitation, and loaded with charm. On the other hand, rustic decor is a type of decor that will reflect a love of the outdoors and it also makes the home welcoming and homey. Furniture Limassol
