Dining Table Vignette

My dining table is set up as a vignette and won't actually be used for dining this season.
We're traveling to see everybody this year
so there won't be any fancy fixin's here!

A while back I saw a picture posted from a
tour at Mary Carol's (Nell Hill's)
home and it inspired me
for my table design.
My main draw was how they mixed up
the centerpiece with varying candle
holders and the tall vases with the
evergreens.
This also was a blog posting
(sorry I can't find the information on it)
that also got my
head spinning on the idea for my
centerpiece vignette arrangement.
I was drawn to the varying sizes
of candle holders and votives.
While shopping at Kirklands after
Thanksgiving I found the two large
red hurricanes.  Initially I intended
to use them for a candle but that
got changed.
I found the two large mercury glass
hurricanes (T.J.Maxx) and they were going to
be the tallest pieces on the table,
but that changed too!
A few pine boughs laid in between the
deer with scattered ornaments,
pine cones and a faux pair of
deer antlers.
This shows the table before I added one
more element to it.
 To me it seemed unfinished-
So I added this felt cut-out garland I found at
a local store.  I felt the vignette needed
a frame so this is what I ended up with.
It has a partridge at each end, stars, and the words
Peace and Hope on it
 Some of these candle holders/votives
are from Pottery Barn both this year
and last year and some are new from
T.J. Maxx
I used the ruby red accents to go with
the new Kirkland's pieces
The square glass risers are from
Wisteria- I find them handy for
giving unexpected dimension
and design.
The arrangements consist of green and
glittery gold pine boughs, feathers, a magnolia
flower and a candle ring that frames
them. I shopped my own home
of goodies for this!
The candle ring at the bottom of the
flowers rests on the top of the hurricane
and had it's own little ornaments and
greens. It blends right in and is
hard to distinguish.
So that's a wrap on my dining table vignette!

  7. Amazingly pretty! You are sockin' it to the Christmas season, girl!!! Those hurricanes are really slick. They're really substantial-looking. So many have such a flimsy look, but not those! Very pretty!

I like the little one with the little moss ball on top--so cute! It's soo beautiful when the candles are all lit! I also enjoyed looking at the pictures from the tour! Your slim tree this year was just beautiful, sorry I haven't gotten back to you, it was perfect and the decorations were lovely.
