Tropical Spring Tablescape (T)

Let's jump continents to enjoy a Tropical Spring Tablescape!

These flowers had all the right colors for my tablescpape and I decided to incorporate elephants in with it too!  The dishes, tablecloth and napkins all had a touch of orange.  The vase  is an elephant!

These elephant plates are from World Market a couple of years ago.

I used green stemware and coffee mugs to go with the salad plates.

The flatware is decorated with antiqued silver finish so I used some antique silver napking rings to go along with them. The chargers are from Pier 1, and the dinner plates were a find at Cracker Barrel a long time ago.  The reminded me of the Thread and Berry plates by Juliska so I grabbed them up.  They have no identification on them.  The coffee mugs are from Park Designs, from the Old World Collection.  Green stemware was from One King's Lane many years back.

There were hydrangeas in the floral bouquet but they didn't last long.
Carnations, Alstroemeria, Football Mums, Oriental Lilies and Stock

I hope you enjoyed my Tropical Spring Tablescape!

Still enjoying the amaryllis!
I sure have enjoyed growing the amaryllis this winter season.
It gave me fresh flowers and added color!  They don't have to be just for Christmas!
Now I'll be waiting to see some daffodils and tulips!

Tropical Luncheon Dreaming (T)

Greetings from "your" favorite tropical destination!

We'll pretend we're seated on a lanai enjoying a lovely view of the ocean and an early afternoon luncheon!

Flowers are a must!

Adding to the sunny afternoon some sunflower plates accompanied by bamboo handled flatware and Pioneer Woman glassware.

The carefree tablecloth was a find a couple of years ago at Home Goods.

We'll enjoy a few toasts and reflect on our lives.

Thank you for joining me!

Island Tropical Dining (T)

We had rain all night and it was warm in the morning and felt very tropical so I got to thinking about putting another tablescape together with tropical accents.   I put together two arrangements to get started with.

I cut some of my ferns, and forced them into a circle then into the vase providing a way to hide the floral stems that will go above.

I have three of these candle votives that were setting on my desk and they also influenced my ideas this morning for this tropical island  tablescape.

Naturally I had to use this green cockatoo (found at Younker's when they started their going out of business sale) for my Island Tropical Dining table.

The Flamingo had to be included too!
The floral arrangements are a mix silk and real flowers.

I created the center arrangement by layering fern fronds in two directions and added some little pink parrots (napkin rings) for extra tropical flair.

The fronds help them to stand up.

The melamine dishes are by Cynthia Rowley found at Home Goods.  The twig placemats were from Pier 1's holiday season.  A great texture for my Island Tropical dining!  I added in one more layer with the blue edged placemats (from Crate & Barrel) to accentuate the blue in the plates.

The blue and white striped flatware (Crate and Barrel this year) added a little more of the island look!

These green beaded napkin rings are also by Cynthia Rowley and the napkins are another Pier 1 set called Flamingo Pink Stripe.  I recently used these in another tablescape "here" designed to look like a rose.

The little pink figural hibiscus plates were found on clearance at Pier 1- wish I could have found more than 2!

Rocco Stemware by Bahia Bormioli.  Love their blue and green mix and I've gotten great use of these for a variety of tablescapes.

The sun has burned through the clouds and it's a beautiful day!

Thank you for joining me for my Island Tropical Dining!

Breakfast on the Balcony (T)

Let's imagine we're having breakfast on the balcony at a tropical location hotel!

Fresh flowers, tropical colors and flamingos!

Rocco stemware by Bahia Bormioli.  Flamingo from Hobby Lobby

A little added greenery to dress up the base of the florals.

I made a rose napkin with the "Flamingo Stripe Pink" napkins from Pier 1.

Flamingo plates from Crate & Barrel 2017

I chose the coral/orange dinner plates to pull on the soft orange roses.

Enjoying morning sunlight and cooler temps before the heat of the day starts!

Birthday for Mom and Flamingos! (T)

Join me for a birthday party in honor of my Mom who just turned 95 today!

I've been wanting to do a tropical tablescape with Flamingos so I decided to wrap it together for Mom's Birthday.

In 1973 Mom and Dad went to Hawaii.  They came back two of the happiest people I'd seen in a long time!  I decided to add the pink leis in honor of that memory.

I added a fabric runner that has palm leaves (recent find at TJMaxx) on it and dressed the center with pineapples, again thinking of Hawaii!

The flamingo glasses, napkins and pink dinner plates came from Pier 1.  The hibiscus napkin rings and Flamingo plates came from Sur La Table.

The ferns were cut from my garden (you can see them in the background next to the deck) and then I added hibiscus lilies and orchids.

I found two green leaf mat squares that I cut an inch off all the way around to set the pineapples on.  They help hidd the area where the runner didn't fill around one side of the umbrella.

A cool glass of lemonade will be perfect!

The yellow flower placemat is from Pier 1 (a current item).

I hope I was successful in conveying a tropical feel!

Happy 95th Birthday Mom!!

I put together a lemon cake and added some colorful sprinkles!

My Mom Dorothy with her sister Virginia- two sisters left of 4.  We lost Aunt Gladice earlier this year and the oldest Aunt Beatrice about 8 years ago.

Thank you for being a part of my birthday party for Mom!
