A Picture of Pitchers!

Since it's all white outside I decided to create an all white vignette!

The center pitcher is a Juliska that I ran across marked down to half off.  I couldn't believe my luck!  The pitcher on the left was just a T.J.Maxx find and the pitcher on the right was from my mother's collection.

I added a creamer and sugar container that have a similar beading design on them as the pitcher.  The galvanized cake platter is from Hobby Lobby and the galvanized tray was from a gift store in Pennsylvania a couple of years back.

This pitcher was staged on a candle holder with one of my mother's lace doilies. I'm pretty sure I got that pitcher from Hobby Lobby.  The candle holder was from Pottery Barn several years ago and has a nice vintage look to it.

I added a few more of my mother's lace doilies.

Cute little butterfly doily.  She often put these out as a coaster on the glass tops of her tables.

I have a few of these star like doilies that were hers too.

My mom had a collection of pitchers but this was the only plain white one.

It's older and the glaze has crackled a bit too but to me that adds character!

I placed a couple of faux ferns in a clay pot.  This is another candle holder from Pottery Barn like the other with a vintage look.

So that's my Picture of Pitchers!

I'd like to give a shoutout to Linda (Life and Linda) for remaking my header on my blog.  We collaborated together and I love how she put together my ideas and hers (mostly hers)!

  1. What a lovely idea to create a white vignette for winter using a lot of your mother's doilies and pitchers! My mom had crochet doilies on top of her furniture and I'm sorry to say that I hated them when it came time for me to dust and polish. You know how teenage girls can be with doing chores, well I was one of them! Lol! Now I wish I had saved more of her treasures! And I love your new blog design! I spotted it right away and wondered if I had missed something along the way! Linda is an expert and sweetheart in getting our blogs just right when it comes to designing them!

  6. Hi Liz,
Love all your pitchers, each one different I couldn't pick a favorite.
My grandmother had those doilies and now I have them I think they
are packed away with other lines. I too noticed your new header design
it really complements your blogging style home and garden.
Can't wait until you show us those gorgeous hostas in your garden this year.

  8. Liz, there is something to be said about white pitchers. I love them! They are elegant and a classic and very versatile. They certainly remind me of simpler days when visits to the grandparents farm was a trip to the countryside. I have a two white pitchers myself and considered collecting more when I find some with beautiful patterns, like yours. They are gorgeous and you used them beautifully in this lovely vignette. I feel it is more like Spring than winter when I see how you used them in front of your gorgeous painting. What a lovely touch using your mom's handmade lace doilies. So sweet.

  10. Love the white pitchers! I have a thing for them too...all shapes and sizes. It's a good thing we have a mountain cottage too because I don't have enough horizontal surfaces to display them at our house!
