Easter in the Living Room

I kept my Easter decorating to a minimum this year.
The more cute and pastel kind of decorating has been kept near the kitchen.

I changed the mantel only enough to add some tulips and my lambs that usually hang out in the china cabinet.

I decided to keep the room simple and only add something that fit in with my decorating.

The tulips came from the Pottery Barn outlet when I visited in February.  I bent them a bit here and there to make them look more realistic.  There are three bunches in this and I didn't expect they would fit the narrow vase but it worked out great.  The lambs were new last year for my birthday.

I centered the tray on the coffee table and I added the urn with the philodendron plant to it.

I found the rabbit at TJMaxx a few weeks ago.  I grabbed it up quickly knowing it wouldn't stay around for long. I love the paper mache finish they gave it.

I added a few eggs to his back pack.

I layered a little bit of grass and eggs in the jar.

I've kept it all low key this year and I'm liking it!

  4. Lovely decorations - I especially like the wooden tray!! Is your plant real? It looks so full and perky!! Mine looks droopy and sad!!

  5. I tend to not overdo in the living room too (my dining room shelves and tablescapes have enough decor for the whole house). Subdued and understated in my opinion can make a larger statement than all of the glitz and panache of so much of our holiday decor. The lambs on either side of the vase of beautiful tulips are perfect, it says all that needs to be said. I am totally in love with the natural look of the colors on the paper mache rabbit, I think the print of this handsome bunny adds so much to his character too.... Candy

  6. Love your "low key" Easter look. The white tulips and lambs are perfect on the mantel, and your new bunny is great. I LOVE standing bunnies with baskets on their backs. But you probably already guessed that. :) Have a good weekend.

  8. I love your bunny, Liz! What a great find. I'm sure they are all gone now though. I was in our new Home Goods/TJ Maxx combo store last week and was really disappointed that they didn't have much to choose from. Maybe I should stop back. Who knows - one might have been hidden in the back!

  9. TJMaxx and HomeGoods always have some of the best Easter animals for decorating. The rabbit is adorable, but I really have my eye on those beautiful sheep. There is something about sheep that just tugs at my heart strings.
    Have a wonderful week, Liz.

  11. If I'm decorating for Easter I want to do exactly like you did.
Lovely pieces. Sweet and meaningful details. Love it!
I see you're still hanging to a less is more look on the Mantel - looks fabulous!!! I love the lambs - you always have the sweetest items in storage.
I still have to decide if I'm throwing the Easter Sunday Lunch for the in-laws. Can you believe it?!
And all this is putting a dent on my preparations... not that I mind too much but seeing your lovely pieces made me want to start... something.
Enjoy The Holy Week Dear Friend (it's so good to see your home bathed in that glorious Sun),
