Plaid Tidings to You!

I trust most of you are done decorating, settled in and are relaxing by now. I'm also done so I thought I'd put together a tablescape.
I began with the plaid tablecloth that was from T.J. Maxx this year.
I tend to like things cozy and a relaxed for the kitchen nook area especially at Christmas!

I brought out these Holiday dishes that go with the Italian Countryside dishes that we use everyday.  I usually mix them in with the everyday stuff through the month of December.

I chose the rattan chargers to keep the look relaxed.

There are four patterns and coffee mugs with matching floral designs on the inside.

The centerpiece is a compilation of a cake stand turned upside down, dressed with red beads, topped with a creamy white charger and a cloche containing a small sleigh with ornaments and snow.  The gold twine balls were added to form a wreath.
(The charger used to be an odd color of green that I never liked so I changed it to Rust-Oleum Heirloom White)

The charger can be lifted off and the cake stand turned over and can act as a platter holder for breakfast, brunch or lunch!

So much glare makes it nearly impossible to take a good picture.  Susan at Between Naps on the Porch recently showed these cute little sleigh ornaments from Walmart at this "post".  I went to our store to get some but they were in sad shape.  I only bought one but it ended up working well inside this cloche.

Up above I decorated the chandelier as I do every year but with new burlap accents.
The little bells were from Walmart and the ornaments from T.J.Maxx

I rested the burlap ribbon up on it's side to show the Merry Christmas and added some undulation.

I'm trying not to show you the whole area because I haven't done a post on the decorating I've done in this area....that will be next!

  4. Such a cozy and welcoming setting. The chandelier is decorated in a way I would like to imitate, maybe you can come to NY and do it for me :-)

  7. Really pretty Liz! I don't think I have ever seen the pieces that mix with the Mikasa, but they are certainly beautiful. Clever girl, turning that cake stand upside down, and whipping out the spray paint to fix something you found odd. Right after my own heart.

  15. I saw those cute sleigh ornaments at Walmart but didn't get any. I'm waiting until the after-Christmas sales with my fingers crossed. I do that every year...because I'm cheap! :-)

I like the relaxed look of this tablescape. It's just right for eating daily meals in style throughout the holiday season. My favorite part is the holly inside the mug!!! Whenever I drink from a cup with an embellishment inside, it just seems to la-dee-da!! I even put my pinky finger out! :-)

NICE job on painting that charger!!!
