Easter Dining

Easter
I am the resurrection and the life, he that believeth in me,
though he were dead, yet shall he live
John 11:25

The Lenox Easter tree and the cross go well together.  I've owned the bas-relief daisy votive holders from the Lenox for some time.

I like how they look with a candle burning in them.

I chose the mirrors for "reflection"

Each egg has a family member's name on them.

Topping the stack are the Pier 1 bunny egg shaped dishes.
I wanted to use our fine china set by Noritake called Yoshino.  When I first found these dishes I was smitten with them because of the springlike colors.  We selected them for our 30th Wedding anniversary- Today is our 36th!

I layered two chargers. This allowed pops of green to show and help separate the white from the tablecloth.

I used these Pier 1 votives as egg holders

The blue and green stemware draws your eyes up and offers a nice layer of color.  I'm happy they go well with the china.  The pops of color offered by the votives holding the eggs added some traditional Easter coloring.  The gold flatware is always paired with these dishes.

  13. After watching the memorial service for those 3 people shot at the Jewish Community Center/Village Shalom on TV this morning, I believe John 11:25 even more. I have to. It's the only thing to keep me going at this point. You chose that passage right on time, sister.

The cross is absolutely beautiful. I think because it is that clean, pure white that it looks even prettier. The design is gorgeous. Neat "thorny crown" around it!!!

Happy Anniversary to you both! Your 30th anniversary dishes are beautiful and perfect to celebrate your 36th as well as to commemorate the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on this very special upcoming weekend.

  15. Liz, this is a beautiful table for Easter Sunday. I love the white bunny plates, they are so pretty with your anniversary dishes. You are right, the pattern on the plates is like the flowers on a Spring day. I especially love the Lenox Easter Egg tree, it is lovely. To me the most important element on this table is the cross. The picture of the cross illuminated by the light of the candle in the votive is more than just lovely, it brings peace to the mind to know that we are so loved.
