Living Room Tweaking

I needed to find a spot for this antiqued mirror
I looked about and decided to put it here on this wall by my built in cabinetry which started the ole' domino effect.  Next thing I knew I was changing out the whole layout.

I remembered this vase I kept from a floral arrangement that I had from Ethan Allen many years ago.  I had removed the flowers but saved the base because I liked the finish it had.
I brought it up and sure enough it had the right kind of personality to go with the mirrored piece.
The topiary ball is one of two that I already owned and it seems to fit nicely!  The candle I dug out from my candle stash.

I changed out the candle to lighten it up and grap the same coloring as the lamp shade in it has a background color that is very similar to that mirrored piece.

I'm in love with this angel piece and decided it didn't have to only be used at Christmas so I'm keeping it out all year long. The flameless candle comes on everyday which is nice to enjoy.  I love those things!

I found a candle ring that fit in there nicely
(some of my pictures don't show the candle ring because I got it
after I took them)

I took family pictures from the other cabinet top and mixed them in here to personalize it.

As you can see I have a blend of gold tones, a little taupe and ivory.  I think it's a nice fresh look for the season! I would like to find a little something to go above the mirrored piece to add a little height there.

This lidded box holds extra remotes that we rarely use. It was over on the other cabinet top but it was relocated here near my shelving unit.  I had this bamboo accented vase in storage and the two brass candlesticks are always in the mix somewhere in my setups.
You'll notice my white monkey was moved over here too.

The white monkey was inside my cloche arrangement but I switched places with it for this hummingbird clock.  It actually fits better so it's a good thing!
I took the glass off so you could make it out better.

This green planter was relocated from the same area to this chest

So that concludes the domino effect for now!

I didn't move any furniture around! I actually like this arrangement so much I don't see any reason to change it- which is unusual for me!

  1. I like everything!!! It's a beautiful, brightly sunlit, room. The piece I especially like is the box that holds the extra remotes. For me, that is a focal point after the newly framed antique mirror.

  18. I am crazy about that mirror, Liz, and you did a great job decorating around it. I cannot seem to get inspired in my house to make any changes. I might be moving sometime in the not too distant future, so I think I will save my creativity for a new place!
