Dining Table with Traditional Roots

My dining table is ready for the holidays!

I've used a pair of mercury glass hurricanes I bought last year at T.J. Maxx.
I placed them on two pedestals that I turned upside down.

I dressed the hurricanes with two candle rings and my centerpiece bowl
was a new find at T.J.'s this year.

I've stacked the bowl with my Pottery Barn ornaments that I started collecting several years ago.
Just push the play button to hear the bells!
The jingle bell garland is my favorite- it has the sweetest sound!
Reminds me of Santa's sleigh!

The little mercury glass votives were from Pier 1 Imports.
I fell in love with them immediately.
I got the last two in the store but I wanted more.
(For $1.95 each you can't go wrong!)

Each year I bought one or two ornaments when I was visiting my Mom's. We don't have a local PB here so I always made sure to take a moment and visit their store.
I added some beaded garland and faux snow.

Up above on the chandelier is a combination of these new rose ornament balls from
One Kings Lane.  Three pine, sparkly silver and satin red garlands were woven in on the arms of the chandelier.
I used a rose accented ribbon on my mantel wreath so when I saw these I had to order them.

My mom has always set up a decorative table setting for everyday viewing.
I'm a traditionalist at heart and carrying on her tradition is something I love to do!
You might say the roots are in deep with me!

Thank-you for visiting!

  4. I love it! It's beautiful! I really like the way you turned the pedestals upside down so they look as though they are cupping the hurricanes. That's a great look! Fun jingle bells, too! GREAT job on the overhead light fixture!!! I never got brave enough to do mine. :-( It's great how your dining room is positioned adjacent to your living room. You can admire the tree from the dining table. Our house has the dining room to your immediate right upon entry with the library to the immediate left and the living room/family room straight ahead. Can't see the dang tree in there! I love your color mix here, too. Very pretty, Miss Liz!
